This afternoon I made a last minute treck up to Shanghai to meet my dad and spend a few days looking for a new apartment here in Shanghai. We decided that between the family we spend enough on hotels in northern China that it makes renting an apartment in the city a worthwhile investment as well as a comvenience and comfort.

My family’s here in Spring City. They arrived a week ago, and we’ve been hangin’ out as my schedule permits. It’s been a little crazy between school and finishing the marketing stuff for the trade show in Shanghai next week. It’s nice to see them again, I shouldn’t take that for granted while they’re here. Next week, we’re all going up to Shanghai, and likely going to see the Great Wall the following weekend.

Between settling into a new city and grinding down on this deadline-job; school’s had to take a back seat ride, and it was pretty easy to fall behind. This week I’ve decided to take my textbook and try and get ahead and even ahead on my own while I’m away. I find it’s not so much about being able to grasp this stuff, but simply practice.
